Robert Koller was born in Basel in 1973.

After his diploma in composition and musical theory (Conservatory of Basle) he studied singing with Laszlo Polgar at the Conservatory of Zürich and received his concert diploma „with distinction“ and furthermore his solo diploma. In 2001 and 2002, he won the prize for solo singing awarded by the Migros Co-Operative Association and the Ernst Göhner foundation. Moreover, he won the “ORPHEUS-Concerts 2003” prize of Zurich.

In concert and opera parts, he has sung the following among others:

In 2002: Jesus in Bach's the Matthew Passion in the Tonhalle Zürich
 
In July 2002: Premiere of Balz Trümpy's “Eis Erota” in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin
In November 2003: Bass solo part in Mozart's Requiem conducted by Alois Koch in the KKL-Hall in Lucerne
 
In 2004: King in Händel's opera “Siroe, re di Persia” in the Musikhalle in Hamburg and the Zellerbach Hall in Berkley (San Francisco), with the Venice Baroque Orchestra conducted by Andrea Marcon
 
In 2004: Solorecitals (Mussorgskij's “Songs and Dances of Death”  among others) at the International Festival “Sugrizimai” in Vilnius, Lithuania, and in the Villa Maraini in Rome
 
In 2004: Bass solo in Sacred Music by Charpentier conducted by Jordi Savall with the Capella Reial de Catalunya at the Styriarte Festival in Graz and in France (in the Cathedral of Vézelay and the Festival of Ambronay among others)
 
In 2004: The title role in H.-W. Henze's “El Cimarron”  in the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in Santiago de Chile, and at the “32th International Cervantino Festival” Mexico (Teatro Principal Guanajuato)
 
In April 2005: Bach Solocantata “Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen” and Ernest Bloch “Avodath Hakodesh” for Baritone, choir and orchestra in the Casino concert hall of Basle
 
In January/February 2006: The Death in Victor Ullmann's “The Emperor of Atlantis” at Lyon, Grenoble, Chambéry and Annecy
 
In May 2006: Solorecital at the International Festival “Società del Quartetto di Milano”; 
 
In September 2006: Baritone solo part in the premiere for baritone and cello solo by H.U. Lehmann at the Lucerne Festival with Walter Grimmer, Cello and the Lucerne Festival Strings conducted by Achim Fiedler

In 2007: Title roles in the operas „Heliogabalus“ und „Egg Musher“ during the summer concerts of the Audi Forums in Ingoldstadt (Germany); 
In the big Hall of the National Philharmonie of Ukraine in Kiev he sang the baritone solo part in Constantin Regamey's „Visions du Prophète Daniel“ . 
 
In 2008: Title roles in several opera productions at the International Orpheus Festival in Fresno, California and at the Festival of Cracovia (Poland); He was then invited for a solo-performance at the ART BASEL (Galleria Stampa, Professionals Day).
In June he sang a scenical solo-recital at the Munich Philharmony am Gasteig (Coproduktion of Gasteig and BMW).
 
In September 2009 he performs the song cycle  "A Valediction"  for Baritone solo with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.
